Introduction
Reference models are used to give context and improve communication between all parties involved in software development and software testing. It is not the intention to be complete, nor to give all possible reference models, but merely those we need in Bona Iqiniso.
Table of contents
- Business Motivation Reference Model
- Methodology Reference Model
- Software Testing Framework – Bona Iqiniso uses the software testing reference model as provided by ISO/IEC 29119-1: Software and systems engineering – Software testing.
- Work Product Reference Model — Bona iqiniso sees the work product reference model as a framework to hold products to be delivered to clients, supporting material (work products) in the production of the product(s) and all material (generic products) that exist to support the production of products and work products.
- Life Cycle Reference Model — Bona iqiniso uses life cycles to organize its activities. Defining a life cycle is as defining a high-level view on the activities of the organization.
- Stakeholder Reference Model — Bona Iqiniso sees the stakeholder reference model as a reference base to indicate influences. In that perspective, a more correct name would have been the Influencer reference model, but since stakeholder is a more generally accepted term, the name stakeholder reference model has been chosen. Mentioning this means that the reference model also will include (non-human/organizational) influences that are not that obvious, like regulations, assumptions, company values, etc..
- Quality Reference Model — we use “Quality” quite often in IT. But what is quality? “Your quality” does not need to be the same as “my quality”.
- Process Reference Model — Bona iqiniso uses the process reference model as provided by ISO/IEC 12207:2008 : “Systems and software engineering — Software life cycle processes”
- Metric Reference Model — Bona Iqiniso combines Indicators and metrics in one reference model. Bona Iqiniso makes a difference between indicators and metrics based on 6 rules. If a metric complies with all 6 rules, it is considered a quality metric or quality measure, else it is considered an indicator.
- Assessment Reference Model — Bona Iqiniso bases its Assessment reference model on ISO/IEC 15504, which is a process assessment reference model.
- Continuous Improvement Reference Model — Bona Iqiniso bases its Continuous improvement reference model on the CMMi framework.
- Risk Reference Model — Risk management is a key discipline for making effective decisions and communicating the results within organizations. The purpose of risk management is to identify potential managerial and technical problems before they occur so that actions can be taken that reduce or eliminate the probability and/or impact of these problems should they occur. It is a critical tool for continuously determining the feasibility of project plans, for improving the search for and identification of potential proble
- Testing-As-A-Service Reference Model — Testing as a Service (TaaS) is an outsourcing model in which testing activities associated with some of an organization’s business activities are performed by a service provider rather than employees. These activities, also called services, are coming from the methods we implement in Bona iqiniso.
